Apolo Anton Ohno captured a bronze medal in the short-track 1,000-meter final Saturday, earning his seventh career medal, the most in U.S. Winter Olympic history. The skater won the silver medal in the 1,500-meter a week earlier. With three laps remaining, Ohno slipped, falling to last place before catching back up to finish third. He won two medals — a gold and a silver — in the 2002 Olympic Games, and he won a gold and two bronze medals in the 2006 Games.

A walk-on football player at the University of Mississippi died Friday after participating in the team’s first spring workouts. After reportedly having trouble breathing and collapsing, 20-year-old Bennie Abram was rushed to a hospital, where he died several hours later. Abram was a junior college transfer.

Bob Knight has some company at the top. The former coach at Army, Indiana and Texas Tech and player at Ohio State, Knight holds the Division I record with 902 victories. Philadelphia University coach Herb Magee tied Knight’s mark Saturday after leading his Division II Rams to a 70-67 win over Post College. Magee, 68, has piled up a record of 902-352 in his 43 seasons with the Rams. He can eclipse Knight’s mark with a victory Tuesday against Goldey-Beacom College.
